Horicon Bank’s Al Schwab was honored by the Wisconsin Bankers Association as a recipient of the organization’s Lifetime Service Award for more than 40 years of service to the banking industry.
Joining Horicon Bank in 1997, Schwab swiftly became an integral part of the bank’s commercial growth and success. During his tenure, Schwab built and grew the bank's business banking division as its first official business banker and is now retiring as the bank's Chief of Business Banking with a team of over fifteen Business Bankers and Credit Analysts.
Schwab led Horicon Bank through significant milestones, including expansion into new markets and multiple bank mergers. In addition to his work at Horicon Bank, Schwab actively served the Beaver Dam community through his roles as a Board Member of the BD School Board; Beaver Dam Economic Development Board; Dodge County YMCA Board; BDCH Foundation Board; as well as a BD Chamber Ambassador and numerous non-profit organizations.
“Over the course of his distinguished career, Al has played a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction and enhancing customer relationships in the Beaver Dam community,” said Fred F. Schwertfeger, CEO. “Through his dedication and leadership, Al has not only contributed to our bank’s success, but has also inspired many bankers in our industry. We are deeply grateful for his service and wish him all the best in retirement.”
As Schwab steps into retirement, he says he looks forward to spending more time with his family and enjoying all the outdoor activities Wisconsin has to offer. His legacy will undoubtably continue to influence the future of Horicon Bank and inspire a new generation of leaders in the Beaver Dam community.
