Horicon Bankers are Shopping (and Eating) Local this Holiday Season!

Holiday shopping got you overwhelmed this season? Horicon Bankers are here to help.

Our bankers don’t just work in your community, they’re members of it too. They live, play and yes, SHOP in their communities!

Shopping local helps stimulate your community’s economy; it’s a great way to make sure your money stays in your community and it provides job opportunities. Best of all, you can usually count on a better, more personalized experience when you shop your local Main Street.

So where should you start your holiday shopping this year? Here’s a few of our bankers’ favorite places:

The Norbert is a phenomenal, casual yet classy bar and restaurant in downtown West Bend,” said Kelly Braeutigam, Branch Manager in West Bend. “Newly renovated, and with a seasonal food and drink menu, The Norbert has a cozy but intimate atmosphere with something for everyone. Pick up a gift card to give the gift of a luxury evening, and maybe stop for a drink, too! (I recommend the Ugg Boots & Chill)”

“I have bought my Thanksgiving meal from Food Pride’s deli, and it was amazing!” said Corey Berghammer, Universal Banker in Beaver Dam. “Just reheat and eat. It’s all ready for you. I especially like the no cooking part.”

Faris Popcorn has any kind of popcorn you’re looking for,” said Mary Beine, Branch Manager of Fond du Lac West. “If you need it for a baby shower, they have blue and pink, and you can specialize the popcorn to your needs! When you walk in the door it is just amazing, all the different kinds of popcorn they have. If you’re looking for fundraising, they offer 50% off the profit you will receive!”

Michelle Velie, Branch Manager in Ripon said, “Farrell’s Fine Furnishing and Back Porch Gatherings have unique and one-of-a-kind furniture. Diedrich Jewelry is a family-owned business with beautiful jewelry options for any occasion. These downtown businesses cater to your individual needs and that’s what makes them so special!”

The Collection, located in downtown Green Lake, has unique home decor,” said Kay Schoep, Branch Manager in Green Lake. “It’s a great place to buy a gift for someone – whether you’re looking for festive wine glasses, scented candles, or even olive oil and bread mixes.”

Looking for help decorating for the holidays or your home? The Collection also offers interior design services.

The Collection, owned by Deb Roberts and Alex Kohlenberg (pictured), a mother-daughter team, are passionate about their home décor boutique, located at 524 Mill Street in downtown Green Lake.

Real Sportscards is a destination for all sports cards collectors” said Craig Much, Vice President of Business Banking.

Amy Mohr, Branch Manager in Waupun enjoys shopping at Stone + Suede Boutique in downtown Waupun. They offer a collection of name brand and specialty boutique items that are hand-picked for you.

“By supporting local businesses, your money stays in the community,” said owner, Lauren Tillema from Stone + Suede. “Local businesses love to support local sporting events, community fundraisers, etc. By shopping small, you are enriching your own community.”

This holiday season, give gifts just as unique as the people receiving them. Check out your favorite local shops (or a few of ours!)!
